EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Downtown El Paso will be filled with music this weekend as the inaugural Sol Summit Music & Cultura Festival kicks off today, Saturday, May 2, at San Jacinto Plaza.

The nonprofit festival, produced by the El Paso Community Foundation, runs May 2–3, 2026. Organizers say the indie, bilingual event is rooted in the Borderlands and brings together global artists, national touring acts and local voices, while spotlighting community organizations.

The lineup is led by headliners Bomba Estéreo on Saturday and The Flaming Lips on Sunday, alongside a mix of indie rock, Latin alternative, electronic and experimental artists from across the U.S. and Latin America.

Gates open at 2:30 p.m. each day, with music running until 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday. Festival entry points are at Mills and Oregon, and Mesa and Main, with a dedicated VIP entrance available.

Organizers say the event is cashless and encourages attendees to plan ahead, travel light and make use of rideshare services. The festival is family-friendly, with free admission for children 12 and under with a ticketed adult.
