After a few days of cool and pleasant weather, the heat is returning to North Texas in May.
Sunday is starting sunny with day temperatures topping out near 81 degrees before dropping to 60 degrees at night. North Texas should expect a light breeze of 5 to 10 mph throughout the day.
The coming week is forecast to bring some sunshine and some rain to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The weather is expected to be warm for the most part with highs in the upper 70s and 80s.
The region will see a slight chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly on Tuesday and Wednesday. The weather service said some storms could turn out to be severe.
