A family disturbance call escalated to a police shooting when the suspect fled in a stolen car and shot at officers, police said. No officers were injured.
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — A suspect wanted on multiple felony charges was arrested Sunday after he was injured in a shoot-out with police, officials said.
The suspect, 30-year-old Mark Williams of Grimes, Texas, was shot and injured by police after he allegedly led officers on a chase in a stolen vehicle before shooting at them with an AR-15 rifle, Grand Prairie police said in a press release.

The Grand Prairie Police Department responded to a family disturbance call around 8 p.m. Saturday in the 3900 block of Dechman Drive, according to authorities. The 911 call was reportedly made by a woman who was formerly in a relationship with Williams, the release states. The woman told police Williams showed up at her house and stole her vehicle.
When police arrived, Williams left in the stolen vehicle, the release states. After a short chase, the vehicle became disabled, police said. Williams used the AR-15 and shot at officers, hitting a police car. He surrendered after being struck with return fire, police said. First responders provided aid to Williams and took him to a local hospital, officers said.
No officers were injured in this incident, police said. The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office Officer‐Involved Shooting Team responded to the scene and is conducting an independent investigation, the release states. The Grand Prairie Police Department will also launch an administrative investigation in response to the shooting.
