Austinites are experts on Texas barbecue, but Nashville hot chicken? That’s something new.

Hattie B’s Hot Chicken is expanding to north Austin on Wednesday, Nov. 5, almost two years after it debuted in Austin at 2529 South Lamar Blvd. The fast-casual chain’s newest location can be found at 3100 Esperanza Crossing, Suite 130, at Domain Northside.

“It’s hard to believe it’s been almost two years since we first opened on South Lamar,” said Nick Bishop, Jr., co-founder of Hattie B’s. “We’ve been encouraged by how much the Austin community has supported us, and we’re excited to take the party to North Austin and serve up some heat, hospitality and a whole lot of chicken to this awesome community.”

The 2,300-square-foot restaurant features an indoor dining room and large covered patio, decorated with neon chicken silhouettes, a red, black and white color scheme, and a dash of Nashville spice.

Hattie B’s offers plate meals, chicken sandwiches, “dirty” fries with pimento mac ‘n cheese, chicken tenders and more, with spice levels ranging from “Southern Style” (zero spice) to “Shut the Cluck Up!” (hottest).

Store hours will be Sunday through Thursday, 10:45 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 10:45 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Nashville-based Hattie B’s opened its doors in 2012 and currently operates more than a dozen restaurants across Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Nevada and Texas, with plans to expand to Illinois next year.
