Briefing at City Hall slated for 2 p.m. Monday

HOUSTON – The City of Houston is set to reveal plans for one of its biggest annual celebrations — Freedom Over Texas — during an announcement at City Hall on Monday afternoon.
Houston Mayor John Whitmire will lead the 2 p.m. briefing.
Officials are expected to unveil key details for the city’s official Fourth of July event, including this year’s headlining performers, a large-scale fireworks show, and expanded festival offerings.
Freedom Over Texas is widely considered Houston’s signature Independence Day event, combining live music, family-friendly activities, and one of the region’s most anticipated fireworks displays.
The announcement will take place inside the Legacy Room at Houston City Hall, where several event partners and city leaders are scheduled to speak.
More information is expected to be released following Monday’s announcement.
