District and school earn $75K combined in statewide recognition for schools and leadership.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Two Coastal Bend districts are being recognized statewide after earning top honors in H-E-B’s 2026 Excellence in Education Awards, bringing home a combined $75,000.
In a press release, H-E-B stated Alice Independent School District received the small school district award and $50,000, while Corpus Christi Independent School District earned top school board honors with a $25,000 award.
H-E-B awarded $480,000 to educators and school leaders across Texas, recognizing their impact in classrooms and communities.
The awards were announced at a ceremony in Houston, where actress and educator Sheryl Lee Ralph delivered the keynote address.
Since 2002, the program has provided nearly $15 million to educators who go above and beyond for students.
