EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A staff member at the IDEA school of the Edgemere location has been arrested following an off-campus incident, according to both school officials and law enforcement records.
In a brief statement, IDEA Public Schools confirmed awareness of the situation, saying:
IDEA Edgemere is aware of an arrest made off-campus involving a staff member. As this is an ongoing investigation, we cannot comment further. All questions should be directed to the local law enforcement.
According to a complaint affidavit filed in El Paso County, the individual—identified as Nubia Lizette Salinas—was arrested on April 18 and charged with DWI.

The vehicle reportedly struck a center divider twice and nearly collided with another vehicle, prompting a traffic stop.

Authorities say Salinas showed signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and a strong odor of alcohol. She told the deputy she had been at the “La Cuatro” restaurant bar prior to the stop.
The report further indicates that Salinas declined to complete field sobriety testing and was unable to provide a sufficient breath sample.
She later refused to provide a specimen of breath or blood after being transported to a patrol station, according to the affidavit.
A search warrant was expected to be issued to obtain a blood sample as part of the investigation.
The investigation is being handled by local law enforcement.
