Four years after Texas’ most popular jeweler opened a new manufacturing facility in South Texas, the company is already planning the next big upgrade.
The company will be renovating 10,000 square feet of manufacturing space at a warehouse located at 421 Junior Beck Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78405, which is located on the same block as its current manufacturing plant at 401 Junior Beck Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78405. The improvement project involves “selective demolition and new construction” for a “tool & die shop,” TDLR records show. About 58,000 square feet of concrete will also be poured for a new parking lot, and the facility’s exterior stairs and HVAC system platform will be upgraded to be windstorm compliant. The renovation project is expected to begin in early August and be finished in about nine months.
James Avery initially opened its Corpus Christi manufacturing facility — what it calls a “Craftsman center” — in 2022. It became the fourth such facility in Texas, joining others in Comfort, Hondo, and at the company’s headquarters in Kerrville. City leaders lauded the news at the time.
The $2.85 million renovation comes after James Avery invested $8.75 million to transform the building at 401 Junior Beck Drive from a former military helicopter engine repair shop and testing facility into a jewelry manufacturing space, according to Cravey Real Estate Services. Now, James Avery will be converting the two 6,000-square-foot warehouses at 421 Junior Beck Drive for jewelry manufacturing, as well. Nueces County property records show the company acquired the new property at the end of February.
