Quorum Architects, a commercial architecture and interior design firm, announces the addition of Carlos Martinez as Project Manager with the firm’s animal care design team.
After graduating from the Universidad de San Pedro Sula in Honduras, Martinez co-founded Arquitectos Asociados, a successful design studio that specializes in residential development and provides appraisal services for large lenders in Honduras.
Martinez moved to New York in 2015 but soon relocated to DFW where he gained multi-family and retail experience with design firms and developers before discovering the world of animal welfare design at Quorum.
“I was drawn to architecture for its blend of creativity and science, but animal welfare design goes beyond – offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference,” says Martinez.
The team, whose past projects have all been within Texas, have begun expanding their reach with projects in Arkansas and Oklahoma. With the growth comes the need to add experienced staff.
“Carlos has positively impacted our team in multiple ways – he has the skill set needed to manage projects from planning, design development, and interfacing with the clients to maintaining schedules and budgets,” says Principal Kim Dowdy-Hickman, Director of Animal Care Design.
Residing between Fort Worth and Dallas allows Martinez to enjoy all the metroplex has to offer when it comes to dining, entertainment and the visual and performing arts. Speaking of performing, it’s rumored he enjoys nothing more than the opportunity to sing some karaoke.
Along with returning to Honduras to see family and fill up on the local cuisine, he’s hoping to travel to Mexico and the West Coast next year. Professionally, Martinez is advancing his goal of becoming a licensed architect by the end of 2026.
