ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington’s Alex Kalmar and Emilia Mandl have earned Western Athletic Conference weekly honors after a stellar weekend at the SMU Invite in Dallas, Texas.
Alex Kalmar earned WAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for a consecutive week after placing first and breaking his own school record in the men’s outdoor 800m at the SMU Invite. The senior clocked a personal best time of 1:46.55. Kalmar previously set the school record last season at 1:46.86.
Emilia Mandl placed second in the women’s 800m at the SMU Invite, clocking a personal best of 2:07.14. After her performance, she now ranks fourth in program history in the women’s outdoor 800m.
