The Dallas Cowboys have added another undrafted rookie following the team’s rookie minicamp.
The Cowboys signed offensive lineman DJ Wingfield after the weekend’s camp, according to Wingfield’s agent Brent Tessler. The 6-4, 316-pound tackle spent time at New Mexico, Purdue and USC.
An older rookie, Wingfield was ruled ineligible for his final season of collegiate ball after a long legal battle vs. the NCAA, where he applied for a waiver to play for a seventh season of college football and was denied. He sued the NCAA in the summer of 2025, but a U.S. District Court judge denied his request for injunctive relief.
“Very talented guy got a large NIL deal from USC last year but was ruled ineligible by the NCAA right before the start of the season,” Tessler posted on social media.
In his final season at Purdue in 2024, he started all 12 games at right guard for the Boilermakers.
The Cowboys also waived Baylor UDFA Sidney Fugar, another offensive tackle who worked out with Dallas over the weekend.
