Halloween falls on a Friday this year, which means there are plenty of ways for adults to celebrate the spooky season in San Antonio this year without risking a work hangover the next day.

Let’s run down four cool options — from a downtown costume party to frightfully good fine dining.

Costume dance party at Be Kind & Rewind

Downtown ’80s-themed club Be Kind & Rewind always transforms into a haunted house of nostalgic beats and horror-filled thrills for the Halloween season. Dress up in your best costume and dance till you’re dead at the nightspot’s Halloween party. There are plenty of spaces to dance, drink and enjoy the evening. 115 Alamo Plaza, 210-951-1980, bekindandrewindsa.com.

Halloween Spooktacular at The Rock at La Cantera

If you can’t find a sitter, the Rock at La Cantera’s free and family-friendly Halloween Spooktacular is just what the mad doctor ordered. The event will include a spooky pet zoo, a costume contest, pumpkin painting, a trunk-or-treat event and plenty of treats for kids and adults alike. San Antonio Young Professionals 2nd Annual Halloween Bash and Fundraiser

Work hard, play hard: One of San Antonio’s largest networking groups for young professionals is throwing a bash at The Veranda on Halloween night from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The ticketed event includes an open bar, a house DJ, a costume contest and other Halloween fun. VIP ticket holders also enjoy a private bar, passed hors d’oeuvres and more. The event raises funds for the San Antonio Young Professionals organization and the Young Commercial Real Estate Advancement Network. 300 Main, 300 N. Main Ave., sayp.us.

Halloween at Clementine

Known for their custom “feed me” menus at Clementine, James Beard Award-nominated chefs John and Elise Russ have concocted a $59 four-course, Halloween-themed “feed me” menu for Halloween night only. Enjoy course options such as creepy cavatelli, “bloody” beet salad, haunted apple orchard cider donuts and more. Those who dress up in costume can enjoy a sweet treat from chef Elise.
