The restaurant, housed inside the city’s historic 1929 municipal building, will begin serving a new midday menu starting Monday, May 18, giving locals and visitors a fresh reason to stop in before the dinner rush.
Lunch service at Old City Hall officially launches May 18 and will be available seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The expanded hours position the restaurant as a full-day destination in the heart of downtown, bridging the gap between its established dinner service and evening bar scene, according to a news release.
Following lunch, guests can roll into happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m., which will feature $10 martinis alongside a small selection of discounted bites.
Old City Hall is located at 200 N. Seguin Avenue in downtown New Braunfels, inside the city’s original City Hall building. The nearly century-old structure has served multiple roles over the decades, from municipal offices and a police department to a World War II Red Cross training site and archive space for the Sophienburg Museum.
The building has since been restored and reimagined into an upscale American restaurant, blending its historic character with a more modern dining experience.
The new lunch menu introduces several midday-focused options while keeping many of the restaurant’s existing favorites in rotation.
Among the new additions is a French Dip sandwich, served with a rich French onion au jus and fries. Diners can also expect staples like the pan-seared ahi tuna salad and crispy chicken sandwich to remain available during lunch hours.
Happy hour will bring its own lineup of lighter fare, including a $12 cheeseburger and shareable pigs in a blanket for $6.
Old City Hall is part of Wiggins Hospitality Group, the New Braunfels-based team behind McAdoo’s Seafood Company and La Cosecha Mexican Table. The addition of lunch marks another step in the group’s continued expansion in the local dining scene, as it builds out what it hopes will become a go-to gathering spot from midday through late evening.
