Calallen’s Coll Carroll named MaxPreps National Pitcher of the Week
Calallen senior pitcher Coll Carroll was named the MaxPreps national pitcher of the week after his dominant performance against Hidalgo.
Carroll struck out all 15 batters in a five-inning perfect game for the Wildcats’ 13-0 win.
The 68-pitch effort saw only two opposing batters work a full count.
The game was the second 15-strikeout game of the season for Carroll, who accomplished the feat in a 4-0 no-hitter against Laredo United on March 11.
Carroll is 8-1 on the season.
The Wildcats (30-2) moved up to No. 3 in the MaxPreps National Top 25 after the sweep of Hidalgo.

Calallen is scheduled to face Needville in a best-of-three series starting Thursday at Riverside Stadium in Victoria.
