32-year-old Jonathan Allen Music faces multiple charges after authorities say he was linked to a series of burglaries and vehicle thefts across Rockport.
ROCKPORT, Texas — A Corpus Christi man is behind bars after police say a string of burglaries and vehicle thefts unfolded across Rockport on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Rockport Police Department, officers first responded around 12:46 p.m. Tuesday to the 300 block of South 6th Street for a reported burglary of a habitation. Investigators gathered information at the scene, including a description of the suspect.
A little more than an hour later, officers were called to the 2800 block of Business 35 North for a burglary of a vehicle. While investigating, another victim reported her vehicle had just been stolen. Around the same time, police also received a report of another burglary of a habitation in the 300 block of South 7th Street.
Police broadcasted information about the stolen vehicle to nearby law enforcement agencies. Officers with the Fulton Police Department later found the vehicle abandoned in the 500 block of South Fulton Beach Road around 2:43 p.m.
Just minutes later, authorities received another report of a stolen vehicle in the 2200 block of Cape Charles Drive. The owner was reportedly able to track the vehicle’s location and told police it was traveling near Jamaica and Bayshore drives.
At approximately 2:55 p.m., another caller reported a suspicious person attempting to open doors at a home on Jamaica Drive. Multiple agencies set up a perimeter in the area, including the Rockport and Fulton police departments, the Aransas County Sheriff’s Office, and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department game wardens.
Police say a final call around 3:05 p.m. led officers to a residence on Riviera Drive. Officers located the suspect inside the home and took him into custody around 3:08 p.m.
Authorities identified the suspect as Jonathan Allen Music, 32, of Corpus Christi. He was transported to the Aransas County Jail, where he remains pending multiple charges.
Investigators say the case remains active. No mugshot was available at the time of the department’s release.
