With the 2025-26 high school sports season ongoing, the El Paso Times will give readers a chance to vote to identify El Paso’s top athletes.

This week, readers can vote for which El Paso Times‘ El Paso Children’s Hospital high school girls athlete had the best performance in softball and track & field.

Here are this week’s nominees:

Emily Orr, Franklin track & field. Orr qualified for Class 6A state meet in the 3,200 meters with a time of 10:38.05. Orr earned a wild card berth to state.

Laurin Gardner, Chapin track & Field. Gardner won the 100 meters at the Region 1-5A meet with a time of 11.49 seconds. She is headed to state.

Sianna Butler, Chapin track & Field. Butler won the 200 meters at the Region 1-5A meet with a time of 24.01 seconds. She is headed to state.

Gianna Gulley, Andress track & Field. Gulley took second in the long jump at the Region 1-5A meet with a mark of 18-0. She is headed to state.

Alexia Martinez, Fabens track & Field. Martinez finished second in the 800 meters at the Region 1-4A meet with a time of 2:17.96. She is headed to state.

Sarah Rodriguez, Parkland softball. In area round win vs. Wichita Falls Memorial in Class 5A playoffs, she hit a big home run in Game 1 and had a key double in Game 2.

Samantha Martinez, Parkland softball. Martinez won both games in the circle vs. Wichita Falls Memorial in area round of Class 5A playoffs. She struckout 23 batters. At the plate, she had four hits, a home run and a triple.

Miley Rodriguez, Americas softball. In Games 2 and 3 vs. Abilene High in area playoffs, had four hits and three runs batted in.
