Lubbock man sentenced to probation after stealing money from car dealership

  • May 7, 2026

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A Lubbock man has been sentenced to probation and has to pay restitution after stealing thousands of dollars from a car dealership in 2024.

A jury convicted Joshua Weston on Tuesday of third-degree theft between $30,000 and $150,000. He owned a partial stake in Adobe Auto Sales before the business went south and he resigned from the company.

Prosecutors said he then went to the bank and pulled out money from the company accounts that he did not have a right to.

Weston’s defense attorneys initially insisted this was a civil matter, but have now withdrawn the motion to have a jury decide his punishment. They entered an agreement with the defendant for 10 years’ probation and a restitution of $149,999.
