2026 Shrimporee relocated due to construction and public safety concerns

Chamber president said pavilion construction timelines and unconfirmed safety support led to the decision.

ARANSAS PASS, Texas — The 2026 Shrimporee will be temporarily relocated from its traditional site due to construction tied to a new pavilion project and unresolved public safety staffing needs, according to the president and CEO of the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce.

Rosemary Garcia said the decision was made after reviewing construction timelines and the availability of resources needed to support the event safely.

The Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce said this year’s festival will instead be held at the Maxine Flourney Third Coast Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force Museum at T.P. McCampbell Airport, located at 3201 FM 3512.

Chamber officials said the festival grounds are on incorporated property in San Patricio County.

Garcia said relocating the event will help ensure proper planning, public safety and the continued success of Shrimporee for the community.
