The City of Austin announced late last month that Big Stacy Pool, located at 700 E. Live Oak St., Austin, TX 78704, is expected to close on Saturday, May 9, as part of its annual spring cleaning and maintenance work. Under current timelines, that closure is expected to run until Sunday, May 17, allowing the pool to reopen to patrons in time for Memorial Day (Monday, May 25) and the start of the summer season.
While Big Stacy Pool is closed for its annual fine-tuning work, Austin residents and visitors are encouraged to visit other pools and city facilities for a cool-down and a reprieve. Deep Eddy, Bartholomew, Springwoods, Colony Park, and Barton Springs pools are year-round facilities that will remain open to public access throughout the duration of Big Stacy Pool’s closure.
