AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police are searching for a driver who struck a bicyclist and fled the scene earlier this month near the University of Texas campus.
The hit-and-run crash occurred about 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, near the intersection of West 30th Street and East Drive, according to the Austin Police Department.
The bicyclist was struck by an unknown vehicle. The driver immediately fled without calling 911 or providing aid, police said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
Investigators learned there were possibly two witnesses who flagged down help following the incident. Police have not been able to identify or speak with those witnesses and are asking them to come forward.
