RIVER OAKS – Hubbard “Hub” Harp Makarwich born on June 22, 1943, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, laughter, and unforgettable memories on the water. Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite C, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Funeral Service: 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2026, in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107; followed by an interment in Greenwood Memorial Park. Hub was a proud United States Army veteran who served his country with honor and carried that same spirit of loyalty and strength throughout his life. He was also a dedicated member of the Lions Club, always willing to lend a helping hand to his community and those in need. Hub found his greatest joy outdoors – especially at the lake, where he loved boating, water skiing, and spending treasured time with family and friends. Whether behind the wheel of a boat or gathered around with those he loved most, he had a way of making every moment feel special. Above all, Hub was a devoted husband, father, Papaw, and great-Papaw. He shared 59 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, Claire Ann Makarwich. Together they built a family filled with love, strength, and lasting traditions. He was the proud father of Monty Makarwich, Marla Wyman, Marvin Makarwich, and Monica Parsons. His greatest title, however, was “Papaw,” lovingly given to him by his eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many cherished nieces and nephews who brought endless joy to his life. Those who knew Hub will remember his warm heart, steady presence, sense of humor, and the love he poured into his family every single day. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. Though Hub may be gone from sight, he will forever walk beside those who love him – in every ripple on the water, every warm breeze across the lake, and every cherished family memory shared for generations to come.
