For the first time in five years, the Alabama Crimson Tide will look to win for the SEC Tournament championship. The Crimson Tide take on the Texas Longhorns in a top-10 showdown Saturday at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington, Kentucky. Alabama (49-6) is ranked No. 3 in D1Softball’s top 25 rankings and the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll; Texas (41-10) is No. 6 in the rankings.

The Crimson Tide are coming off a 9-1 run-rule victory over the Florida Gators in Saturday’s semifinal game. Ambrey Taylor had a big day at the plate for Alabama, launching her 11th home run of the season and her second in as many days. Taylor had a walk-off RBI single in the fifth inning and finished the day 3-for-4. Alabama outhit Florida, 10-3. The Tide have outscored opponents, 16-2, through their first two tournament games

Texas defeated the Georgia Bulldogs, 5-4, on a walk-off RBI single by Viviana Martinez. Alabama and Texas met in the regular season at the beginning of April. Beth Mowins, Michele Smith and Jessica Mendoza are scheduled to call the action from the broadcast booth at John Cropp Stadium.
