The UTA Native American Student Association will host events throughout November to celebrate Native American Heritage Month.
Stephen Silva-Brave, Native American Student Association president, said Native American Heritage Month is celebrated to acknowledge and learn more about the people who first made up the U.S.
“The different events have different purpose, but it’s mostly just to let people know that we’re here, we’re part of your community,’’ Silva-Brave said.
The events the Native American Student Association will be hosting are free and open to all. Silva-Brave also mentioned that anyone who wants to learn more about past and present Indigenous cultures should attend.
“These are for everyone,” he said. “We would love for non-Indigenous people to come as well.”
