Midday traffic headaches are about to get worse in one of Leon Valley’s most congested areas. The City of Leon Valley posted about a lane closure on Huebner Road that will start on Monday, May 11.

Crews will temporarily close one eastbound lane on Huebner Road near Leon Valley Elementary School and near the Texas Department of Public Safety Driver License Mega Center.

The closure, tied to the Senna Phase 2 project, will run daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Wednesday, potentially worsening congestion in an area already known for heavy traffic.

“Please plan ahead and expect possible delays if you travel through the area during these hours,” the City of Leon Valley wrote in its Facebook post. “We encourage drivers to slow down, stay alert, and use extra caution while crews are working nearby.”

Senna Phase 2 is part of a new residential development by Century Communities in Leon Valley, featuring single-family homes priced typically from the mid-$300s, according to its website. The project, located near Huebner Road, includes modern, two-story floor plans with 3 to 4 bedrooms.
