Buddy Holly Hall proudly announces the addition of three new staff members, marking an exciting new chapter for the organization as it continues to grow in its sixth year of operation. Chief Executive Officer: Jeff Hunsinger, Chief Advancement Officer: Michael Hutchison introduced the new team members, each bringing exceptional experience and a shared commitment to strengthening the arts across Lubbock, West Texas, and the South Plains.
This announcement follows Buddy Holly Hall’s five-year anniversary, celebrated in January, a milestone that reflects not only the venue’s success, but the remarkable growth of the arts community in Lubbock. As the largest dedicated performing arts center in the West Texas region, Buddy Holly Hall continues to expand its programming and regional impact.
New Staff Appointments
Emily Britton has been named Director of Development. A Dallas native and Texas Tech alumna, Britton brings a strong background in marketing and sales with Connoisseur Media, along with experience in higher education through roles with the University of North Texas Admissions Office and the Texas Tech College of Architecture. Her leadership will support the Hall’s donor engagement and philanthropic initiatives.
Lauren Hughes has been appointed Director of Foundation Relations and Corporate Sponsorships. A Texas Tech alumna, Hughes brings extensive experience in grant management, foundation relations, and community partnerships from her work with Upbring in Austin. Her background in cultivating grant funding and building strong community relationships will be instrumental in expanding Buddy Holly Hall’s philanthropic reach across Texas and beyond, helping to grow fundraising efforts that will enable an even greater impact through the arts in our community.
Carol Middleton joins as Director of Marketing. Originally from Oklahoma City and an alumna of Oklahoma State University, Middleton most recently worked with Legends Global, where she led marketing and sales initiatives for the venue as a part of the venue management team. She also brings experience in events and student engagement from Texas Tech University, as well as nonprofit work and leadership at Amarillo Opera. In her role at Buddy Holly Hall, Middleton will focus on strategic marketing, brand identity, and sharing the story of the arts in Lubbock.
A Growing Team for a Growing Arts Community
Chief Advancement Officer Michael Hutchison, who will lead the newly expanded team, emphasized the importance of this moment for the organization.
“I believe we have hired the right professionals at the right time in the history of Buddy Holly Hall,” Hutchinson said. “Carol, Emily, and Lauren will help ensure our mission to provide transformative experiences remains at the forefront of our efforts as we move forward with momentum.”
Hutchison, who joined Buddy Holly Hall with extensive experience in higher education, nonprofit leadership, fundraising strategy, and community engagement, is playing a key role in shaping the Hall’s long-term advancement vision. Under his direction, the new team will strengthen donor relations, expand community partnerships, fundraising initiatives, and elevate the Hall’s regional presence.
