San Eli man dies after losing control of dirt bike in El Paso County crash
A San Elizario man died after he lost control and was thrown from his dirt bike near a Fabens park in far East El Paso County, authorities said.
Deputies responded to a report of an off-road vehicle crash about 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, in a desert area near San Felipe Park by Fabens and Carlsbad roads in Fabens, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Priscilla I. Contreras said in a news release.
The deputies arrived at the scene and found Pedro Rocha, 52, with serious injuries. Rocha was taken to a hospital, where he later died from the injuries he suffered in the crash.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Traffic Investigators took over the investigation.
The investigation revealed that Rocha was riding the dirt bike in a desert area when he lost control while attempting to negotiate a curve, the news release states. Rocha was thrown from the dirt bike.
No further information was released as the investigation remains ongoing.
