The Dallas Cowboys announced on Monday afternoon that they will line up against their NFC East rival, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Thanksgiving Day in Arlington.
The Cowboys have played the Eagles only twice on Thanksgiving, and neither has ended in a win for Dallas. The first was a 27-0 drubbing by the birds on Nov. 23, 1989, dubbed the “Bounty Bowl,” and the most recent loss was a 33-10 final on Nov. 27, 2014.
The Dallas Cowboys have played on Thanksgiving Day most every year since Nov. 24, 1966, except for 1975 and 1977. In that debut contest, they beat the Cleveland Browns 26-14.
The Cowboys have an overall record of 34-22-1 on Thanksgiving. The Cowboys have won the last three Thanksgiving Day contests against the Commanders (2023), Giants (2024) and the Chiefs (2025).
Earlier in the day, NBC announced the first Sunday Night Football matchup would be Sept. 13 between the Cowboys and NFC East rivals, the New York Giants.
This year’s Thanksgiving Day game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 26.
The NFL will release the full 2026 schedule on Thursday.
