ARLINGTON — For Rangers second baseman Josh Smith, if it ain’t one thing, it’s the other.

Smith, already on the 10-day injured list with a right glute strain, came down with a case of “wrist inflammation” in the midst of his ramp up and will be down for “hopefully” just a couple of days per Rangers manager Skip Schumaker. The 28-year-old has been sidelined since May 4 and is eligible to be activated Thursday.

Smith said that he felt the soreness in his left wrist Saturday and acknowledged that his lower-body injury has largely healed up. He ran the bases before Monday’s loss vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks at Globe Life Field.
