Art After Dark: Japanese Artist Yayoi Kusama
Art After Dark: Japanese Artist Yayoi Kusama will take place on Friday, May 15 from 6:30–7:30 p.m. at the Southeast Branch Library. This creative evening program explores the work and artistic style of renowned Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, known for her bold patterns, colorful installations, and immersive art experiences. Attendees can enjoy a fun, art-inspired activity while learning about one of the most influential contemporary artists in the world.
Concerts at the Levitt Pavilion
Concerts at Levitt Pavilion return on May 15–16 from 7:10–10 p.m., bringing another weekend of free live music to the heart of downtown. Friday, May 15 features the Levitt Youth Spotlight at 7:10 p.m., followed by Chris J. Norwood & The Knockdown Dragout at 7:30 p.m. and genre-blending headliners The Suffers at 8:30 p.m., delivering their signature mix of soul, funk, rock, and Gulf Coast sound.
The music continues Saturday, May 16 with the return of the annual Salsa Night celebration, featuring youth performances, community dance lessons with Salsa at the Gardens, and live music from Quimikoz and Elias y Su Orquesta. With free admission, dancing, and an energetic outdoor atmosphere, it’s another great weekend to grab a lawn chair, gather with friends, and enjoy live entertainment under the Arlington sky.
Lake Arlington Garden Activity Day
Lake Arlington Garden Activity Day will take place on Saturday, May 16 from 8–10 a.m. at the Lake Arlington Native Plant and Pollinator Garden, 5500 Lake Arlington Drive. This volunteer event invites community members to help restore native prairie land and care for demonstration gardens filled with native plants and wildflowers. Participants can enjoy a morning outdoors while supporting conservation efforts and helping keep one of Arlington’s natural spaces thriving.
Arlington Heritage Memorial Grounds Guided Tours
Step back into Arlington’s history during the Arlington Heritage Memorial Grounds Guided Tours on Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at Arlington Heritage Memorial Grounds. Visitors can explore the recently restored historic cemetery grounds through guided tours that share the stories of Arlington’s early settlers and community leaders, including Colonel Middleton Tate Johnson.
Salsa Night
Get ready to dance the night away at Salsa Night on Saturday, May 16 at 5:30 p.m. at Levitt Pavilion Arlington. This free community celebration brings the energy of Latin music and dance to downtown Arlington with live performances, dancing, and a festive outdoor atmosphere perfect for a night out with friends and family.
