EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 29-year-old Las Cruces man has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a show in South Central El Paso that sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries on Monday.

According to the El Paso Police Department, 29-year-old Javier Arroyo was arrested Monday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police believe he shot a man multiple times at an event taking place in a venue located at the 300 block of N. San Marcial.

EPPD identified the victim as a 21-year-old man also from Las Cruces.

Investigators stated that during the event, Arroyo and the victim got into some sort of an altercation where Arroyo then allegedly ended up pulling a gun and shooting the victim several times before running from the scene.

Jail records show Arroyo was booked into the El Paso County Downtown Jail on Tuesday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, with a bond set at $150,000.

According to jail records, Arroyo was released on Wednesday after posting a surety bond.
