FORT WORTH – With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we share that our beloved Jean Lyons passed away peacefully at home on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves behind a profound legacy of faith, compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. A visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite B, 3100 White Settlement Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76107. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church Fort Worth, 1000 Penn Street, Fort Worth, TX 76102. Born on July 25, 1938, in New York City, Jean lived a life defined by grace and quiet strength. She was the cherished wife of Donald Lyons, whom she married on February 15, 1958. Their marriage was a true partnership, rooted in faith, loyalty, enduring friendship, and profound love. Together, they shared nearly seven decades of marriage, filled with cherished memories, meaningful adventures, shared travels, and countless quiet moments that brought them joy. Wherever life took them, their greatest happiness was always found simply in being together. Jean’s faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her servant’s heart and her deep commitment to helping others. Jean faithfully volunteered every Wednesday and dedicated countless hours to food and clothing outreach ministries within her community. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for, and her gentle spirit touched everyone who crossed her path. Jean also enjoyed a fulfilling career with American Airlines, where she formed lifelong friendships and carried the same warmth, kindness, and dedication that defined every part of her life. One of Jean’s greatest joys was caring for others through cooking and baking. To Jean, food was love made visible. No one ever left her home hungry-her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and togetherness, where family and friends gathered, stories were shared, and lasting memories were made. She embraced life fully and shared a deep love of travel with her husband and family, creating treasured experiences that will forever live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to journey alongside her. Jean and Don built a home centered on faith, family, and service to others. Jean was a devoted and loving mother to her children, Stacey Reider (Brad Reider) and Don Lyons (Fran Lyons). She gave endlessly of herself, offering constant encouragement, wisdom, strength, and unconditional love. Her children always knew they were supported, deeply loved, and placed at the very center of her heart. Jean leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Rachel Mastellar (Ryan Mastellar) and Christopher Lyons; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Donald and Macey Mastellar, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy. Above all, Jean Lyons will be remembered for her unwavering faith, compassionate heart, quiet strength, and the extraordinary love she gave so freely to her family, friends, and community. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a legacy that will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
