EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A 60-year-old man who was struck while crossing Alameda on Monday, May 11 died, according to El Paso police.
Armando Gonzalez of Central El Paso was identified as the pedestrian. Police said he crossed the 6100 block of Alameda Avenue in South-Central El Paso when a pickup truck was heading westbound along Alameda Avenue. Gonzalez was accused of crossing into the pickup truck’s pathway, causing the crash.
Gonzalez was reportedly thrown onto the ground when another pickup truck, a Toyota Tacoma, struck him .
He died at the scene, according to police.
This pedestrian crash marks the city’s 20th traffic fatality in 2026 compared to 22 this same time lat year.
