Gone are the days of the Vans Warped Tour in San Antonio, but a similarly-titled concert headed for the Alamo City is sure to bring the nostalgia flooding back. 

Rock band Underoath will stop at San Antonio’s Paper Tiger this summer as part of THE VAN TOUR TO VANS WARPED TOUR. Go ahead and take all the time you need to read that tour name again. No, you don’t need your eyes checked. Tongue-twisting as it is, Underoath’s VAN TOUR TO VANS WARPED TOUR makes more sense once explained. 

The original Vans Warped Tour was a traveling punk festival, which ran for more than two decades and brought bands like Blink-182, Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and more to fans across the country. It’s like my playlist circa 8th grade sprouted legs. San Antonio was among the original tour stops in 1995, and founder Kevin Lyman previously said he made the Alamo City a mainstay and not Austin because “you guys were first!”

To be fair, San Antonio has always been known for its love of heavy rock music, and the Warped Tour trucked through during the same era as OzzFest, Ozzy Osbourne’s annual cabal. But every dog has its day, tastes change, and the tour held its final hurrah in 2019. 

However, it’s been brought back in some semblance of its original form. It made a comeback for its 30th anniversary in 2025 with stops in three cities: Orlando, Florida; Long Beach, California; and Washington, D.C. A lot of those classic bands played, like Black Veil Brides, Asking Alexandria, Bowling for Soup, the All-American Rejects and more, alongside newer artists. This year, it’s a similar tour with added stops in Montreal and Mexico City.

Here’s where Underoath comes in. No, the Vans Warped Tour is not coming to San Antonio in 2026. However, Underoath is playing at the Washington, D.C. stop in mid-June, in Long Beach in July, and in Mexico City in September, using the road trip as a tour of its own. To spell it out: they’re traveling by van. They’re sponsored by Vans. And they’re headed to the Vans Warped Tour.
