On the morning of October 30, 2025, something extraordinary happened live on the air. The Concordia Heritage Foundation surprised Iris and Grizz with lifetime honorary memberships, recognizing their continued support of one of El Paso’s most important historic organizations.
The announcement came straight from Foundation President Olga Zamorano and her son, Louie Zamorano, who presented the certificates live in the studio. The honor was awarded by a unanimous vote of the board, marking a moment that neither of us will ever forget.
When Olga and Louie stepped into the booth, we thought we were just welcoming two of our favorite guests. But as they unfolded the certificates, the room filled with emotion. My heart stopped for a moment when I realized what was happening, and Iris immediately fawned over how beautiful the certificate was. It was one of those rare on-air moments that feels both humbling and surreal, the kind of moment that reminds you why community matters so much in this city.
We are deeply honored that the Concordia Heritage Foundation, an organization we’ve admired for so long, thought we were worthy of such recognition. Their tireless work preserving and celebrating El Paso’s history, from tours of Concordia Cemetery to educational events and community partnerships, keeps our city’s stories alive for generations to come.
If you love El Paso and want to help protect its history, we absolutely encourage you to support the Concordia Heritage Foundation in everything they do. You can learn more about their preservation efforts, upcoming tours, and volunteer opportunities by visiting their official page or following them on social media.
To the entire board, to Olga and Louie, and to everyone who helps keep El Paso’s history beating strong, thank you for letting us be a small part of it.
