There’s nothing like donning your costume and celebrating Halloween on the actual 31st of October, especially when clock strikes and it falls on the weekend.

So regardless of age, we’ve got something for everyone—literally for kids and for ages 21 to… all the way up if you like dressing up—at 50 total events happening from 9am to 2am.

Happy Halloween, Houston! Oh, and we’ve got plenty of love for Dia de los Muertos this weekend too.

Halloween Day is for Kids!

We’ve got 10 events for kids and families, just in case your neighborhood doesn’t bring all the goods or you’re looking to spice your kids’ proverbial pumpkin latte.

Zoo Boo at Houston Zoo – Little ghouls and goblins can enjoy age-appropriate Halloween fun, including the giant pumpkin, scary-go-round, photo ops, lantern tunnel, and more. Costumes encouraged. Included with general admission. 9am to 5pm. Get tickets.

Halloween at Downtown Aquarium – Bring the kiddos in costume and get a half price exhibit ticket with adult exhibit purchase at the Downtown Aquarium. $26.99; $24.99 for kids under 42″. 9am to 6pm. Get tickets.

Happy Halloween! at Children’s Museum Houston – Bring the kids to the museum district for a K-Pop Demon Hunter Meet & Greet, a Beetlejuice DJ, arts and crafts, and more. $19.95. 9am to 8pm. Get tickets.

Sloomooween at Sloomoo Institute – For one last day, kids and families can enjoy special trick-or-treating, costume contests, make your own slime, meet and greets with Sloomoo, getting slimed at Spooky Falls, and more at the top slime experience in the U.S. $29+. 9am to 9pm. Get tickets.

Happy Halloween! at Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center – Celebrate Halloween with a live DJ, face painters, DIY workshops, and trick-or-treating in Fort Bend. $15. 10am to 5pm. Get tickets.

Trick or Treat at 1838 Menard House | FREE – Galveston’s oldest residence opens its gates to trick-or-treaters offering individual bags of candy for young guests. The house itself will be closed. 5pm to 6:30pm. Learn more.

Boo Bash at Katy Mills Mall | FREE – Bring your ghouls, goblins, and little monsters to the AMC Plaza as Katy Mills Mall hosts a Boo Bash with trick or treating in a family-friendly environment. 5pm to 7pm. Learn more.

Halloween Trick-or-Treat at CityCentre | FREE – Go on a spooky stroll through CityCentre in your costume for tricks and treats, and then head to the plaza for spooky DJ tunes, a witchy Halloween performance, and other fun activities. 5pm to 8pm. Learn more.

Pumpkins After Dark 2025 at Big Rivers Amusement Park | Ends Sunday – Journey down a magical road adorned with 10,000 hand-carved lit pumpkin sculptures and displays, complete with full access to Big Rivers Amusement Park. $23. 6pm to 10pm. Get tickets.

Family Movie Night: Coco at Trebly Park | FREE – It’s a Halloween/Day of the Dead mash-up at a screening of Pixar’s Coco (PG, 2017) under the stars—with pre-movie character meet-and-greets, free face painting, popcorn, and candy. 6pm; 7pm movie. Learn more.
