A body was found in Greens Bayou on Saturday night near Interstate 10 in east Houston, according to preliminary information from the Houston Police Department.
A fisher called to report the body at around 6:20 p.m. near the 13300 block of the East Freeway near the Uvalde Road exit, police said. The caller said the body appeared to be that of a naked man. Northeast patrol division officers and a dive team responded and found the body, police said. The scene was near the Market at Uvalde – a commercial lot with a Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Cavender’s Boot City and more.
The individual’s identity and cause of death were not immediately available. The medical examiner typically releases that information, but the office did not immediately return a request for information Sunday.

There have been more than 200 bodies found in area bayous since 2017, including at least 34 in 2025. The grizzly discoveries became a major source of alarm last year, when seven bodies were found in less than a month in September and October. Some have speculated that the deaths were the work of a serial killer, but authorities rejected that theory.
Drowning was the leading cause of death among bodies that were found in bayous throughout the region from 2017 to 2025, according to the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
