The Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships took place from May 14-16 at Maverick Stadium.
Seven universities competed in preliminary matches on Thursday and Friday, which included discus, pole vault, javelin throw, high jump, hurdles and dashes. The finals started at 11 a.m. Saturday and lasted until after 8 p.m.
The event resulted in an overall first-place win for the Tarleton State University men’s team and the Utah Valley University women’s team. UTA placed second in the men’s competition and third in the women’s.
