GRAND PRAIRIE – James Ellis, 90, peacefully passed away on May 14, 2026. Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Indian Hills Baptist Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Greenwood Memorial Park. He was born to William and Mahalie Jo Ellis in Blooming Grove, Texas, as the eighth of eleven children on January 6, 1936. He was a graduate of Blooming Grove High School. After graduation, he served in the National Guard from May 1954 until his honorable discharge in April 1962. After high school, James met and married the love of his life, Caroline Rosinbaum, and they had four children together. They lived the majority of their married life in Grand Prairie, Texas, and attended Indian Hills Baptist Church. James was devout in his faith and walked with the Lord, serving as a deacon in the church for many years. He loved singing in the church choir and always had a song in his heart. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason in good standing for over 60 years. James was a loving and wonderful husband and father, leaving behind three of his children, Carla Anderson, James Ellis Jr. and wife, Lia and Danette Dockins. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jason and wife, Frederique, Kara and husband, Darrell, Gary, Jared, Erin and husband, Elliott, Brandon, Jessica and husband, Ryan, Shelbi and husband, Nathan, Sierra, Landon and Sophia; as well as numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline Ellis; daughter, Pamala Johnston; son in law, Wayne Anderson; and grandson, Sean Dockins.
