Elon Musk has hinted that Tesla’s futuristic diner concept may soon expand beyond Los Angeles, with new locations potentially coming to Austin, Texas, and Palo Alto, California.

“The futuristic Tesla Diner is going well. Probably makes sense to open one near our Giga Texas HQ in Austin and engineering HQ in Palo Alto,” Musk said on X.

Tesla’s diner concept first came to life earlier this year when the company opened its flagship Tesla Diner and Drive-In on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Media District back in July. The retro-futuristic destination quickly became a major crowd-puller, combining Tesla’s signature Superchargers with a themed restaurant and drive-in movie experience.

The location’s success seems to have convinced Musk that it’s time to bring the experience to other Tesla hubs. While he did not provide a timeline for when new diners might open, Musk’s mention of Austin and Palo Alto as potential next sites aligns perfectly with Tesla’s major corporate and engineering footprints in both cities.

The official Tesla North America account recently also announced a refreshed menu at the LA diner, which now includes breakfast options available until 2 p.m. “Lots of new items on the menu – come try ‘em,” the company wrote on X.

Musk has long teased that Tesla could open more diners if the first one proved successful — and it appears that milestone has been met. The Los Angeles location has regularly drawn large crowds, with Tesla enthusiasts and curious foodies alike stopping by to charge their vehicles, grab a bite, and soak in the brand’s distinctive sci-fi aesthetic.

Given Tesla’s focus on creating destination charging experiences, the expansion of the diner concept to Austin and Palo Alto could mark the next step in blending EV infrastructure with entertainment and hospitality.
