FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in East Fort Worth.
On May 16, 2026, at approximately 12:05 a.m., officers from the Fort Worth Police Department’s East Division were dispatched to the 4200 block of Wiman Drive following multiple reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers heard additional shots and observed an adult male suspect armed with a gun. Officers confronted the suspect, ordering him to drop the weapon. The suspect did not comply and was seen pointing his weapon at the officers, according to a press release from the department. At least one officer discharged their firearm, striking the suspect.
Officers provided immediate medical aid to the suspect until the Fort Worth Fire Department arrived to assist. The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene. No officers were injured during the incident.
Detectives from the Major Case unit have been called to the scene and are continuing the investigation.
