Galleria Dallas wants to spin up a new look at one of the most active parts of the mall.
The shopping center plans to renovate the “center court,” the area surrounding the ice skating rink, according to a release on Monday that included new renderings of the upgrades. Completion is expected by year’s end.
The area of the center is set for new flooring, lighting and seating areas, where folks can hang out, drink coffee with a friend and watch the action on the ice. The most noticeable change: replacing the teal glass that surrounds the rink with “a fresh, off-white finish to brighten and modernize the space,” the statement said.
Visitors also will see new digital boards added to Level 2 — and throughout the building, they will find interactive kiosks, enabling them to locate stores. They can also text themselves directions from current locations.
Galleria Dallas is adding resources into improvements that help attract visitors and keep them there longer. The mall has also been welcoming new tenants, including the addition of Netflix House, even as it’s had the closing of Nordstrom.
“Ongoing investment in Galleria Dallas, combined with strong growth in foot traffic, reinforces that modern shopping centers can still prosper in the digital era,” said Angie Freed, Galleria Dallas general manager, in the statement.
In 2025, the mall completed the remodels of restrooms on Level 3 North and at the Galleria Dallas Ice Skating Center on Rink Level. There have been other enhancements, including a new entry corridor leading into the center between The Westin Galleria Dallas hotel and jewelry store Bachendorf’s.
