Kendal Ann Houx, 55, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering love, devoted motherhood, deep faith, and a compassion that touched every life she encountered. Born on August 6, 1970, Kendal was lovingly adopted and raised by Guandina “Kitty” Canada and Kenneth Douglas Canada alongside her brother, Doug Canada. She was raised in a home filled with love, compassion, and strong family values, qualities she carried with her throughout her entire life. Known lovingly by those closest to her as “Mimi,” Kendal had a warmth and gentle spirit that drew people to her wherever she went. She was the beloved wife of Daniel Houx and a devoted mother to Justin Glass and wife Crystal, Seven Reyna and husband Wilivaldo, and Kaysie Yeske and husband Nathan. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her cherished grandchildren who called her “Mimi”, Khloe Glass, Camila Reyna, Isa Reyna, Emma Sanchez, Elena Yeske, Mia Glass, Javier Reyna, Jaxson Yeske, Ezra Reyna, and Josiah Yeske. She had a heart unlike any other. Kendal carried an extraordinary passion for helping people, especially children and families facing difficult seasons in life. As a Behavioral Specialist for EMS-ISD, she dedicated herself to working with children who struggled with severe behavioral challenges. She not only impacted the lives of her students, but also empowered parents and teachers with guidance, patience, and understanding during some of their hardest moments. Her work was never just a career to her, it was her calling. Her love for children and serving others extended deeply into her faith as well. Kendal faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher for over 10 years, pouring love, wisdom, and encouragement into the lives of the children she taught. Her faith and compassion were evident in every part of her life. Outside of her profession and ministry, Kendal found joy in cooking meals for those she loved and getting lost in a good book. She had a gift for making everyone around her feel seen, heard, and cared for. Her heart was massive, and she gave her love freely and wholeheartedly to those around her. Kendal’s legacy will live on in the countless lives she changed through her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, coworkers, students, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
