Bill Miller Bar-B-Q has always found ways to shake things up with its long-standing barbecue menu, with new and seasonal items rotating year-round. The San Antonio-based restaurant chain has done it again with the unexpected addition of burgers amongst its more traditional barbecue options.

Bill Miller dropped a big hint on its own Instagram page on Sunday, May 17, posting a short reel of burger patties sizzling on a grill, ending on the reveal of Monday’s date. Over on the Bill Miller website, the homepage is now largely dedicated to the restaurant’s new burgers, specifically its new cheeseburger combo.

While it might seem random to some, a spokesperson for Bill Miller Bar-B-Que told MySA via email it’s actually a nod to its roots: “In the early days of Bill Miller, chicken boxes and hamburgers were both part of the menu, so you could say this limited-time cheeseburger is a return to our roots.”

The combo is priced at $11.50 and appears to include a cooked-to-order cheeseburger with a small side of fries and a classic Bill Miller Bar-B-Q tea. Since the burgers are made to order, there is a small disclaimer that it may take up to 10 to 12 minutes for the meal to be ready. The Bill Miller cheeseburger will be available after 11 a.m. Monday through Friday, and in the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday.

Bill Miller Bar-B-Q’s sister chain, Laguna Madre, has featured a burger on its own menu for some time, despite being a restaurant mostly focused on seafood. The cheeseburger at Laguna Madre is also priced at $11.50 and includes fries and a tea.
