You don’t need to know how to apparate or use floo powder to find your way to Hogwarts. On May 29 and 30, San Antonio’s Toyota Field will be transfigured from an ordinary stadium to a magical drone show with live music and magical moments to delight every Muggle’s heart.
Around 1,200 illuminated drones will fly up into the air to paint the night sky like a canvas with scenes from the Harry Potter movies. During the show, you’ll hear the iconic soundtrack and music played by a live violinist, as well as dialogue from famous scenes in the films.
It’s the perfect weekend activity for families and Potterheads alike, with tickets ranging from $26 to $94, depending on the seating you choose, your age, and whether you’re attending the show in a group of eight people or more.
You won’t have to pack your own sandwiches as Ron did on the Hogwarts Express, either. Before the show starts, you can enjoy delicious food and drinks while shopping for magical souvenirs from the wizarding world.
Once darkness falls, the violinist will start to play while the drones will take flight to light up the night sky. During the show, you’ll see Hogwarts appear in the night sky along with the sorting hat, golden snitch, Hogwarts Express, and other iconic images from the wizarding world.
Everyone gets an LED wristband that lights up in tune with the show, making the experience more interactive and magical. If you happen to show up in your wizard robes or a Weasley sweater, all the better!
The show starts at 9:15 pm, but you can arrive as early as 7:15 pm to enjoy the full experience. The show is 60 minutes long, including the intermission period. It’s best to dress warmly and wear comfortable shoes so you can fully enjoy the show.
If you choose the Deluxe Suite Seating or Seating tickets, you’ll have stadium seats reserved for you. Those who pick Lawn tickets have to provide their own seating, so you’ll need to bring blankets, pillows, and so on. The show is open to all ages, and kids under 3 can attend for free.
Tickets are fairly limited, as the show only takes place at Toyota Field on May 29 and 30, so if you want to enjoy the magic of Hogwarts, we suggest you book your ticket now.
