EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — More than 3,100 University of Texas at El Paso students will be recognized this weekend as the university holds four in-person Spring Commencement ceremonies at the Don Haskins Center.
UTEP said the ceremonies will honor spring and summer 2026 graduates and degree candidates. Commencement is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17, with bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral graduates from all colleges participating.
On Saturday, May 16, the College of Liberal Arts ceremony is set for 1 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. ceremony for the College of Education and the Miguel A. Loya College of Engineering.
On Sunday, May 17, the College of Health Sciences and the College of Nursing ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. The final ceremony begins at 6 p.m. for the College of Science, the Woody L. Hunt College of Business and the School of Pharmacy.
Admission tickets are not required. Guests may enter the arena starting one hour before each ceremony.
All ceremonies will be livestreamed at utep.edu/commencement.
UTEP said free guest parking will be available in the perimeter lots off Sun Bowl Drive and Glory Road, including GR2 and SB7, with paid parking available at the Glory Road Parking Garage. ADA guest parking will be available in the ME1 lot off Mesa Street, and the Glory Road Parking Garage is accessible via an elevator. Guests with mobility impairments are directed to use the east entrance on the Mesa Street side of the Don Haskins Center.
The Don Haskins Center will enforce a clear bag policy.
To mark the Class of 2026, UTEP said the “Mining Minds” pickaxe sculpture at the Sun Bowl-University Roundabout will shine in UTEP blue and orange through Sunday, May 17. The “M” on the Mountain, across from Sun Bowl Stadium, will also be lit in honor of graduates through Sunday, May 17.
