As of this week, chicken & dumplings have returned to participating DQ restaurants across Texas, including right here in Lubbock. That’s right, the same place you grab a Blizzard on a hot summer day is now dishing out something warm, savory, and downright soothing for the fall and winter months.

A Texas Classic Returns

This isn’t your run-of-the-mill fast-food special. The Texas Dairy Queen Operator’s Council says the recipe was actually inspired by a DQ owner’s mom—and that home-cooked touch really shows!

Each serving comes loaded with tender chicken, hearty gravy, and soft, fluffy dumplings that taste just like something your grandmother would make on a cold night. According to Lou Romanus, CEO of the Texas Dairy Queen Operator’s Council:

Chicken & Dumplings is one of those hidden gems on our menu that continues to delight guests each season. It’s rich, delicious, and the ultimate comfort food that keeps folks coming back for more.

In other words: this isn’t a one-and-done promotion. It’s a Lubbock favorite that keeps finding its way back every time the weather turns chilly.

You can find chicken & dumplings at DQ locations all across Lubbock. It’s available in 12, 16, and 32-ounce servings—perfect whether you’re grabbing lunch on the go or bringing dinner home for the family.

And yes, you can order it through the drive-thru or get it delivered, depending on location.
