Chief Marketing Officer Jamie Richardson expects White Castle in The Colony to be open and serving its signature sliders in fall 2026, he confirmed to The Dallas Morning News.
The Grandscape development near Highway 121 and the Dallas North Tollway where the company picked its first-in-Texas spot is “a destination” for White Castle, Richardson said.
“We don’t franchise. We don’t open dozens of restaurants a year. It’s very selective.”
On June 2, 2026, to mark the groundbreaking, White Castle executives will turn the dirt with “spatula shovels” instead of golden shovels. They’ll christen the ground with onions “on the very spot where a future grill one day will sizzle,” reads the news release.
“We might even have a medieval trumpeter,” Richardson said.
It seems like White Castle’s having some fun with the restaurant openings. Executives from White Castle will be attendance, including Chief People Officer John Kelley and Corporate Relations Manager Erin Shannon, whose great-grandfather started the company in 1921.
When White Castle opens in Texas, the menu will match the food at over 330 restaurants open today in 14 states. White Castle sells sliders, or small burgers, with options of beef, fried fish, chicken and more. It’s known for its cheeseburger with steam-grilled onions.
“We’re excited to move into Dallas,” Richardson said.
