Former San Antonio broadcast journalist, Emmy Award-winner and TV personality Tanji Patton is saying farewell to her long-running show, “Goodtaste with Tanji.”
For over a decade, Patton stood at the show’s helm as its host, bringing the enticing world of chefs, winemakers and culinary leaders to the homes and phones of her loyal viewers.
She called the decision to end her time on the television series after 11 seasons “one of the biggest decisions of (her) career,” according to a Tuesday social media post.
“There are so many mixed emotions, but they all come from a very good place and are leading into an exciting new chapter in our Goodtaste world,” she wrote. “This will be the final season of Goodtaste with Tanji on television, but this isn’t goodbye.”
Patton co-founded “Goodtaste” as an online show and magazine in 2008 alongside her colleague and supervising producer, Mike Hubberd. The show began airing on television in 2016, with 17 stations across Texas, Oklahoma, Nashville and more broadcasting it. RFD-TV added the show to its national distribution in 2025.
Now, Patton is growing her role with “Goodtaste” in “a new direction” by pouring her focus into the brand’s podcast, “Goodtaste for the Soul”: “We’ll continue sharing food and wine through our digital platforms, while also creating inspiring, uplifting conversations through the podcast,” she wrote, noting that her son Cash will help produce and market the show.
Patton thanked the people and sponsors who made her journey with “Goodtaste” possible, writing that she is “beyond grateful for each and every one of you who has believed in what we do and supported us every step of the way.”
Of course, the Texas native made sure to pay homage to the San Antonio Spurs in her message, signing off with a “GO SPURS GO!”
