Some animals you might see roaming around the Fort Worth Botanic Garden starting this weekend might look a little unusual.
The botanical garden presents its new art exhibition, Sean Kenney’s Nature POP! Made with Legos® Bricks, that will be on display from May 22 through Sept. 7.
The Legos exhibition has been traveling across the United States since September 2021 when it began in Nashville, Tenn. Since then, it has traveled to Atlanta, Los Angeles, Tucson, Tulsa, Wichita, Kan., and now Fort Worth.
The artist behind this exhibition is Sean Kenney, a New York-based artist and the first Lego Certified Professional. He uses Legos bricks in new and unexpected ways and has created Legos art for over 20 years. His works can be seen all around the world and depict people, animals, plants and other shapes.
Visitors to the botanic garden might see a panther ready to pounce, or a mother bear carrying her cub, rendered in Legos bricks. There are 40 such sculptures sited around the garden, created from more than 800,000 Legos bricks. Beside each sculpture is a plaque with a fun fact about the creature. The immersive exhibition is part art and part nature walk, and it’s appropriate for all ages.

Open every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from May 22 through Sept. 7 at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd., Fort Worth. Tickets are $14 to $15 for adults, $12 to $13 for seniors, $8 to $9 for children ages three to 15, infants are free. Half off admission if visitors wear a soccer jersey in June and July. fwbg.org.
