The Dallas Cowboys are going to be a very intriguing team to watch ahead of the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday. After trading superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers just ahead of the regular season, the Cowboys have been expected to be active in trade discussions before the deadline.

Exactly what kind of trade Dallas could be targeting has remained unknown.

Many rumors have come out connecting the Cowboys to a replacement for Parsons. Trey Hendrickson and Maxx Crosby have been two popular names in the rumor mill. However, there are also some who believe the team could target a running back or another position.

Only time will tell, but Dallas only has a few days left to make a decision on what to do. With that in mind, Stephen Jones has spoken out with a clear message about the deadline.

Speaking to the media recently, Jones opened up with more thoughts about the deadline and what the team might try to do.

“I think there’s a lot of things that go into us improving as a defense,” Jones said. “If you can find a player that upgrades you, as I’ve always said, we’re always looking for that every year. Whether it’s by trade or whether it’s a player acquisition, it comes by a lot of shapes, forms and fashions.”

Jones continued on, revealing that the Cowboys might be open to the idea of trading another player for more draft capital as well.

“We have areas where we have depth, and sometimes player-for-player [trades] can be very interesting to us,” Jones said. “We’re also in consideration for giving up a player for us getting a pick and vice versa. It goes all ways.”

Basically, the Cowboys are very much open to anything. Dallas could trade for a piece that improves the team now or it could move on from a player to focus more on the future. No one knows what to expect.

Jerry Jones has never shied away from making a big move. That much could be seen with the decision to trade Parsons away.

Expect to continue hearing a lot of rumors about the Cowboys in the coming days. It will be interesting to see if the team ends up making an aggressive move.
